What is rhodium plating and when should you get your jewelry rhodium plated?

All white gold, is essentially an alloy of pure (24ct) yellow gold, so it is natural to assume that it has a yellow tint. The rhodium plating is a process which gives the white gold its ultra white color by placing a coating over the existing metal. While rhodium plating can vastly increase the shine and durability of your jewelry, it does wear off over time. Everyone needs to get their jewelry plated at different times depending on how your oils in your body react to the plating and how often you wear it. Normally, people need to get it done every year.
